Yukon Nominee Program (YNP):

For someone interested to immigrate to Yukon, here are some options available to them:

Yukon Express Entry:

Yukon Express Entry is an integrated program that aligns with the federal Express Entry system. To be eligible, applicants must have a profile in the Express Entry pool. Yukon provincial nominations may be granted to those who meet the requirements of the YEE program and who intend to live and/or work in Yukon. It is open to skilled foreign workers who have been offered permanent, full-time work in Yukon. Employers who are unable to find Canadian citizens and permanent residents for job openings in the territory have access to the Express Entry

    Requirements
  • A valid job offer from Yukon employer;
  • Must fulfil requirements of at least one of the three economic immigration programs of Canada
  • Must possess an Express Entry profile;
  • Must have sufficient money to support yourself and your family members in Canada
  • Must meet minimum language requirements
  • Must have an intention to work and live in Yukon

Yukon Skilled Worker Program:

Skilled Worker Program is for foreign skilled workers sponsored by Yukon employers for Canadian permanent residence. It is designed to fill key gaps in Yukon's workforce and allows employers to nominate skilled foreign workers.

    Requirements
  • Minimum high school diploma required
  • You must have at most one year of experience to be considered for this job
  • You must have a valid Canadian work permit
  • Must have valid job offer
  • Must meet minimum language requirements
  • Additional requirements must be met by the employer

Yukon Critical Impact Worker Program:

The Critical Impact Worker program allows semi-skilled to unskilled workers to work in high-demand occupations in the territory. To be eligible, you must have a job offer from a Yukon company. You do not have to live in Yukon to apply. Employers can nominate workers who have experience in low-skilled occupations for permanent residence in Canada.

    Requirements
  • You must have a permanent, full-time job offer
  • You must have the required education and work experience (minimum a high school diploma)
  • At least six months related work experience is required
  • You must have a valid Canadian work permit
  • You must meet the English or French minimum language requirements
  • Additional requirements must be met by the employer

Yukon Community Pilot:

Yukon Community Pilot allows individuals who are nominated already to be granted a special work permit that allows them the ability to work for multiple employers within one of the Yukon communities. This pilot project will be running from January 2020 until June 2023. This pilot was established to address Yukon's unique economic and labour market issues.

  • Nominations must be made by the territory
  • Must have two or three job offers that qualify, which must all be in the same Yukon participating community.
  • A signed letter of support must be received from the Yukon government
  • The requirements for obtaining a work permit must be met.
  • Additionally, you must work at least 30 hours per week. They must not be seasonal, and the wages must equal or exceed the minimum wage.
